Details & Specs

Whether you choose an FMJ bullet for its deep, bone-shattering penetration or its ability to protect the integrity of the pelt, you’ll find the perfect Full Metal Jacket in our traditional line. SECANT OGIVE DESIGN Pioneered by Hornady for use in hunting bullets, this technology broke new ground in ballistic engineering and is now used in bullets for everything from match to varmint shooting. The secant ogive is a geometrically developed design that creates the most ballistically efficient profile, yet retains the optimum bearing surface. The combination of the slender point and increased bearing surface results in lower drag, increased stability, flatter trajectories and amazing accuracy.

Hornady Bullets .22 cal .224" 55 gr FMJBT CANN 100/ct is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good bullet for the price I bought 300 of these for both my .222 Remington rifle, and for my AR15 (5.56/.223). At this price, these are cheaper than most FMJ bullets, and the results are very satisfactory. If you need .224 diameter 55gr bullets for target practice, prairie dogs, coyotes, etc., you will like these. These are NOT match grade, nor were they intended to be.

Will this work for my Ruger SR .22 and is it completely ready to go straight out of the box? I've only used .22lr ammunition. I don't want to do reloading and have never ordered ammunition online before.

Asked by: mell
No, those are .224 diameter bullets for reloading .223 caliber cartridges. You are looking for anything listed as 22 LR ammo. If it is listed as "bullets" then it is the projectile for reloading. If it is listed as "22LR ammo" then that is what you are looking for.

I don't find interlock FMJ's on the Hornady site, aren't these just cannelured FMJBTs?

Asked by: Chris H
Yes, those are FMJ with cannelure.
