Reviews
Bushnell AR Optics First Strike HiRise Sight - 5 MOA Red Dot is rated 3.6785714285714284 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing Performance "You get what you pay for" was certainly true for the optics I purchased. Needing only an optic for pistol cartridge ranges I hoped this sale item would work. When the first one could not be adjusted down to the zero point, the SECOND one worked - but only briefly - until the aim point sight drifted up and could not be zeroed thereafter! Fortunately Natchez is reputable and cheerfully refunded my purchase price and shipping.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not smiling. I bought this to go on a S&W .38 .357 revolver. I called Bushnell before ordering it and verified it would hold up on my gun. It did ok with .38 but within 7 shots of .357 it would no longer hold a zero. It would jump three inches to the left every time I fired it. I sent it in for warranty repair two weeks after I got it. Bushnell was nice on the phone and told me how to send it back, at my cost for shipping. I never heard from them and one day I gat a card in the mail with a repair number so I could check on the repair. The same day I get a email saying it shipped out to me. It arrived the next day from UPS and to my displeasure they sent a refurbished one to me. It had sticky glue residue all over the mount and when I installed it on my pistol the screw hole was stripped and would not tighten. I called and they are sending a new mount in the mail. I'm frustrated!!!!! more to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bushnell Bought 2, one for me , one for a buddy. Both work great, for the money it's a no brainer. One's on an AR, the other on a M&P 15-2.

What model is this? Version 1, 2 or 3?

The packaging does not say anything about whether it is version 1 , 2 , or 3.

does this sight have automatic shut off?

Asked by: john snow
Apparently not. It will "power down" if you put the protective hood on it, but it is not like an Eotech that turns itself off after a few hours.

I'm really interested in this sight. I have the Ruger AR-556 model 8500 and wondered if this will work on it, as I can't remove the front sight. Does this sight look over the front sight or through it?

Asked by: tdfellows
Without being able to mount it on your gun to see I do not know for sure, but from the look of it I think it will be in line with the sights allowing you to co-witness the iron sights with the dot.
