Details & Specs

The Lee Decapping Die is a must-have tool for the serious reloader who prefers to clean cases before reloading them. This tool is highly versatile and enables you to take your cases right from the range and decap them quickly and easily, all without cleaning them or even using case lubricant.

In addition to letting you decap your dirty cases without the use of case lube, the Lee Decapping Die even removes stubborn crimped-in primers. This tool is highly versatile, able to accommodate nearly all cartridge case calibers, though it is not recommended for use with .17 or .20 caliber cases.

Lee Decapping Die is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from My Opinions Many people write reviews where they state that they decap their brass by with a Lee Hand-press. This is the die that allows that to happen - - if you also buy a shell holder - - make that a SET of shell holders to make the whole process possible. Annoying that the decapping die does not come with a shell holder itself. SURE, many seasoned, re-loaders have a handful of shell holders already . . . but this decapping die and the hand-held press, decapping is a totally separate process, and everything could be done on a bigger, bench-press otherwise. So the convenience of sitting in front of the TV and decapping brass is almost a fallacy, unless you order three different LEE products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great. I needed to knock the corrosive primers out of some surplus KA 73 30-06. I broke 11 standard decapping pins on a hundred casings before I bought this. It worked really good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from broke pin after 6 decapping primers. will not buy anything Lee reloading ever again. they are cheap and just do not hold up to other progressive loaders.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My first step for reloading As soon as I get back from the range, I sort my brass then decap using the Lee decapping die. I don't have to change calibers, just use the proper shell holder for the brass. This way I can be sure that my primer pockets are cleaned.

The add says it is not recommended for 20 caliber, does this include 223?

Asked by: SCDT
No it is 17 to 20 caliber that it is not recommended for. The .223 is .22 caliber so .223 is not included in that.
